I don't think this is the sort of walk that the dog would like!
Just a filler as I'm suffering with my joints at the moment so haven't been out much to take photos, in fact it is painful to carry, hold and use the camera. The doctor thinks I have a virus that has suddenly made all of my joints so painful. I do hope so, then at least it will get better. I don't want arthritis as a permanent condition just yet. I'm too young!
I can relate. My cfs has flared up so much my joints and muscles hurt too much to hold mine for long. Frustrating indeed. Hope you feel much better soon and can get out and about again. Lovely shot. Great pov.
Beautiful shot.....love the water!! Hope you feel better soon....being in pain can be such a drag!! If it is a virus will they be able to give you medication for it, or will you just need to wait for it to leave your system?
@panthora no medication or cure, just strong painkillers that make you feel dizzy and spaced out if I take them in the day, so only take at night to get some sleep. Can't take daytime as still need to work fulltime!
Chronic fatigue syndrome also called M.E. I've had it for 13 years now after asevere case of glandular fever. For many years I've managed it well. Over the last 6 months it's progressively getting worse. Now sounds like im moaning which I'm not trying to! Just know how many painful joints are at the moment.
Nice candid Chantal and interesting processing. Sorry to hear about your joints, can your diet be modified to help you. I have a very strict diet due to suffering certain ailments and it really works for me. Have you ever thought of visiting a Naturopath? @newbank Sorry to hear that, my daughter has been ill for 2 years and has just been diagnosed with CFS and unfortunately has been bed-bound for the last year. Sorry to hear that it's getting worse. We have only just found a doctor who had actually helped her.
@elaine55 sorry to hear that. My first six months were bed bound. I started with it at 22. I've never returned to employment since 24 but have managed to have two kids. I am back to the stage of needing to sleep during the day to get through it. This is the worst relapse ive had for years which is frustrating. Remind me where in the world you are? Wishing your daughter the best. Hope some brighter and stronger days are ahead for her. Hope you find some good support for your family.
Beautiful image! Hope you feel better soon Chantal. Joint pain can be so debilitating. I hope it doesn't interfere with your photography for too long. When my arthritis is playing up I resort to using my IPhone for pics. Take care!
@elaine55@newbank so sorry to hear that. That has made me feel better as now when I go ouch, I will remember you Ruth and your daughter Elaine, who are both far worse off than me. I hope things get better for you two really soon.
my dog would love this! rocks to jump on, waves to watch, just being there in the middle of all the excitemnt. Hope your joints ease up soon; I'm sorry you have so much company, but I guess this is the human condition.
The dog looks to be setting his legs to avoid moving closer to the rapids.
Sorry to hear about the joint issue...mild arthritis which flares up at times is one of the main motivations for my move to a smaller, lighter mirrorless camera. I still take the bigger Canon out when the arthritis is less of a problem but on the bad days it's a lot easier to hold and manipulate the smaller camera. Hopefully you won't need to consider a long term solution but if you do you might keep a smaller camera in mind.
I absolutely love this photo. Instant fave. The fluidity of the sea, and the detail, is just fabulous. Sorry to hear that you are suffering. Joint pain is the worst (I have two prolapsed discs in my neck, not fixable) - hope you soon recover and that it is just a virus. Photography is a 'distraction' for me, but the days you can't do what you want are a real pain.
@sabanford Thanks Shirley. I already eat lots of onions and garlic and take a high dose of glucosamine. Someone said to go vegetarian. I think if it doesn't go away, I'll research dietary cures!
@jillhempsall so sorry to hear you're suffering with your neck. I think that is one of the worst places to get pain as it's difficult to keep it still or hug it!
@gardencat perhaps I should just go out with my iphone! I've seen what great shot people get with the phone so maybe I should try it. Thanks for the advice
Wonderful shot Chantal. I love the shillouettes but the dog does look scared of the rapids. Sorry to hear about your CFS. It is very debilitating but just rest and I hope it gets better soon
Lovely shot and processing... sorry you are suffering at the moment. I hope things improve soon. I have learned a lot about CFS, too, so thanks to everyone for that. :)
gosh they look as though they are going to get cut off! Lovely shot and a fav. I hope your joints get better soon as you must be in a lot of pain and that can be very tiring
I do love your composition here and the background of splashing water. And I do hope your joints and your health improve, both for your sake, and because you take such wonderful pictures that I don't want anything to stop you from taking them. I'll be thinking of you.
Nice picture, like the POV.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and suggestions. It has been 2 weeks since the joints flared up, but tonight I am feeling really poorly with a fever of 102f. Have taken some codeine in the hope that I can sleep it off. The headache is awful and the dizziness so it's good night from me. Thank you all for caring. What a great community this is!
