The Patagonian Mara is a relatively large rodent in the Mara genus Dolichotis. It is also known as the Patagonian cavy, Patagonian hare, or dillaby. This herbivorous, somewhat rabbit-like animal is found in open and semiopen habitats in Argentina, including large parts of Patagonia. Wikipedia
Thank you to those of you who recognised it as a Mara.
@juliedduncan I don't know. I saw her/him at the zoo before lockdown and have only just processed it. I can't remember what it is. I was hoping someone could tell me!
When I see maras I think of the word 'stot' because I hadn't heard it before and it's something they do....... if my memory serves me correctly.
