Another shot of the guys pulling in the riverboat we launched last week. They're pulling pretty hard here, hanging on to supports for extra leverage, leaning into the pull. They love this part! Get to be all macho and manly, grunting and groaning, bragging rights later on what muscle they pulled, how their backs and legs and arms hurt, and did you see how far out she went and we had to pull her back in!
Had obviously switched lenses at this point, but was still accidentally shooting in jpeg. Might be a bit grainy, but I suppose that adds to the ambience!
You can see the riverboat that we had just tossed in to the left of the photo here. For a size comparison, you can see the men in the small launch boats out there in the river with her. One of their main jobs is to scout the river before launch and turn away any other boats trying to cruise up or down the river. During one of our launches sometime back, some guy in his boat almost wouldn't stop even after being warned away, and we were nearing too far into cutting the welds to prevent a tragedy. Fortunately, the guy reconsidered and did indeed stop.
