Flying Egret

First time I've been out shooting my first loves in over a month I think. For whatever reason, thought I'd try that trick I learned back in August at the workshop I attended and set my ISO to auto. Mistake. Again. Shot everything at either 4000 or 6400. And I was so in the moment with the beauties that I didn't pay attention to what the camera was thinking about it. Needless to say, my shots are all about the grain tonight! So, here's one for ETSOOI, because that's exactly what I had to do to make him presentable!
Awesome picture.

Hi Ashley! Thank you for the shadow challenge you gave me. I was wondering if you'd be up for some creative fun for your challenge this week. I'd like you to choose an item (any item) and photograph it in an unusual way. You could for instance place the item in a setting where you wouldn't normally find it. Or perhaps it could be used in an unorthodox way. Or... just let your imagination run wild and have fun!!!

I shot almost exclusively in manual but with auto ISO. Most times it works fine. Taki g my mind off ISO has allowed me to learn the affects of shutter and f-stops. But there are times you need to control ISO - that is th current lesson I am trying to grasp. Always something ND my older brain learns slower.
