I found myself at Watipquin Thursday night without my camera. One might ask how that could happen! Well I'll tell you. Two weeks ago, in the middle of prepping the garden and house, smoking the bbq, and putting final touches on the Eagle Ceremony taking place the following weekend, hubby's gall bladder decided to cause a ruckus and sent him to the ER twice in one day. Turns out he had gall stones.
Armed with severe diet restrictions and a surgery date, he made it thru the Eagle Ceremony weekend, (poor guy had to WATCH everyone else eating delicious crab cakes on Saturday and bbq on Sunday while he was forbidden to partake!) and almost made it to the following Friday's surgical date. ALMOST!! But he did indeed make it thru Eagle weekend, and for that we were most grateful!
But Thursday morning around 3:30 he woke me up for another trip to the ER. Faithful dietary habits were not enough to make it to Friday. He had another attack, and they went ahead and admitted him for pain control until surgery the next day. By Thursday night he was feeling better, so I headed home, with a detour to Watipquin. Without my camera.
They say the best camera you have is the camera you have with you. Maybe I'm a snob, but no cell phone camera measures up to the real thing IMHO. So this was taken with my iPhone 6s using the 645 Pro app, and I've used the Lightroom app to edit it just a bit. The harshness of the cell phone shot just kills me, but as Wendy @farmreporter has reminded me, we don't have to have a masterpiece every day. So here it is. My photo for Thursday.
No wonder you didn't have your camera with everything going on. This is a lovely shot even if the sun is a bit burnt out. Just be thankful that hubby is fine.
I parted company with my gall bladder last year and have never looked back. Keyhole surgery and home after 48 hours.
It's the camera and eye behind it. I think this reflects the tranquility of the moment and I hope it caused tranquility in you as well and hope hubby is recuperating.
Hope your hubby gets better soon.

I only use my iPhone because it is always with me:)
