While I do not normally prefer a tightly cropped version focusing on the single subject without secondary focal points, I think this is the better version in this instance.
But then, everybody will have a different opinion. It is a matter of taste ... and everyone has their own preferences. But YOU are the most important person to be happy with your work.
Have faith in yourself and your wonderful photos and you will produce great pieces. Yes, it is good to get critiques from others, but ultimately your work must reflect your choices and personality. It is after all, your photo.
And, Ashley, you do produce some wonderful photos (I have faved more than one!)
@farmreporter Thank you for your kind words Wendy! Apparently it's obvious that I'm worrying too much about this one. I think I agree that this is the better version even tho I hate to exclude the reflection. This whole BIF competition has consumed me over the past two weeks, prompting me to research and try to learn more about what is necessary to get the shot as well as learning more about post processing. Your support has been MUCH appreciated!!!
@farmreporter And I totally understand about the house guests! But they're only there for a short time. 365 is here ALL the time. Best to enjoy the guests while you can!
