Excellent! I’m so happy to see blown highlights! Expose for the face, and to heck with the highlights. The circle of curls is the coup de grac (sp?). Beautiful.
@dbj_365 Thank you! I'm trying to figure out some of those secrets! Now, apparently the exposure was correct, BUT I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND PROCESSING PORTRAITS!!!
@shesnapped Don't stress over the processing. The industry wants all up and coming photographers to be convinced they need professional gear and must do frequency separation in Photoshop to have a 'good' portrait. Ok, I exaggerate some, but its still all hogwash. To be honest, the 850 produces outstanding images right out of camera. For portraits, try the "Portrait" picture mode (yes, JPG) and if the white balance and exposure are right when taking the shot, the result is pretty darn good.
