Another for flashofred challenge. In color this really does have just a touch of red left. Not sure about thirds composition on square. It looked lost on larger.
I find that when I'm working with a square crop and a subject like this the Golden Triangle works best. Instead of the grid that the Rule of Thirds works with, the Triangle divides the picture from top to bottom on a diagonal (upper right corner to lower left or upper left to lower right) and then dissects one of the two larger triangles in half from the center of the middle line to the opposite corner. This shot has great balance. Good shot!
