Unfurling

I created this to show how the gazania open and close everyday. The top shot was taken early morning just as the sun was coming up. An hour later they are opening and 2 hours later they are fully open. They close again about 5PM when the sun is setting even though the LED lights above them are on from 6:30AM to 10PM.
Love the comparison shots!

Oh they are gazania! They only open in the sunlight. I have had summers in England when I have planted them and they almost never opened LOL Love them

Interesting. Are you growing these hydroponically?

Flowers with a mind of their own. I like that and can think of tulips which do similar. Beautiful colours!

@randystreat Yes. It is called an aerogarden. It’s been blooming for 7 months. I have grown lettuce and herbs in it before, but the flowers are doing the best.

How interesting. I probably don't need to start one with my pink thumb. Spend a bunch of money and everything die. There was a former 365'er who lived in Australia and he had a huge hydroponic garden outside. I can remember looking at how healthy the plants were in his photos.
