Jay’s new bread book had this new loaf called slab bread. In addition to the usual flour, water, salt and yeast, it has a small amount of olive oil which makes it softer and excellent for sandwiches.

oow - I like the bread slices against the lines of the cutting board here and how they're complimented by the shape of the butterdish and the oppossing shapes of the butter pats.
