Male Pine Cones Forming by skipt07

Male Pine Cones Forming

I saw these unusual, at least for me, pine cones forming. I have learned that there are male and female pines cones. The males form at the bottom of the tree and females cones form at the top of the tree.
Lovely composition. I like the way the pine needles are branching out.

@jenniferruge - @redrucksack - Thank you so much Jennifer and Eva for your kind comments!! I don't know how often people go out with something specific in mind to photograph, but this wasn't one of them. When I saw them they looked interesting, but I was surprised how much I liked them after I got home. Sometimes, at least for me, the good ones come out of nowhere.
