Our church had a "Ring in The Season" concert this evening. This is one of the bells in a 9 octave set and a pair of cotton gloves that are required for the ringers to wear.
@kwind - Thank you very much Kim!! As I walked into the sanctuary before the start this image popped into my mind. So I asked the choir director if she would mind if I took some photos of the bells.
bell choir concerts are perfect at Christmas, but I think they are good anytime!!! beautiful portrayal of this part of the concert...it tells the story well

It was talking to one of the bell choir members as I was taking the pictures and she told me that they has participated with another choir and the other group didn't wear the gloves. She said their bells were all marred with fingerprints and they looked very unattractive. I thought I had heard that the oils on our hands would deteriorate the finish on the bells if left go.
Lovely composition...I love hearing bell choirs...there aren't many. When my son was in elementary school they learned the bells as part of music class....and had to wear the gloves!

@lynnb - Thank you Lynn! Our bell choir has diminished in size as of late so they are somewhat restricted as to the songs the play!
