Beware The Thorns by skipt07

Beware The Thorns

It rained off and on throughout the day. I went out following a downpour and saw these droplets clinging to this thorn bush. I think it looks much better with black background.
Lovely Spring shot!

They look vicious! But the drops don't - great light in them!

Does look better on black, as the reflections show better.

It is really neat on black - love the reflections - the soft green growth is a nice contrast to those sharp thorns.

@maggiemae @gardencat - These are vicious Maggie! I have been snagged by these many times. They are wild raspberries. They grow along one edge of our property. I cut them back but they are prolific growers. I need to prune them two or three times during the mowing season otherwise they over hang and catch me when I am mowing.

@skipt07 That's interesting from the thorns and the look of the leaves I certainly would have thought roses. Never grown raspberries though so what do I know? :)

@gardencat - These are wild. I don't know if a bird dropped a raspberry at sometime and they started to grow or if the people who lived here before us started them. You see them around areas where the grass isn't mowed on a regular basis. I know they grow along the path in the park where I walk and they are along a pasture across the road from us along a tree line. The older they get the bigger the thorns.
