Two years ago our white Crabapple tree was visited by the waxwings on their migration south. They stay a few days gorging themselves on the smaller apples. Last year our tree made very few apples so we didn't see them. Because they eat so much fruit, Cedar Waxwings occasionally become intoxicated or even die when they run across overripe berries that have started to ferment and produce alcohol. We use to have a sweet cherry tree behind our house and the waxwings frequented it. My wife got to see some of them in an inebriated state from eating the overripe cherries.
I didn't do very well in capturing as I did in 2013: http://365project.org/skipt07/365/2013-10-27
I was going to try again on the day after this, but they must have moved on already as I didn't see any.
