Sunset Disappointment by skipt07

Sunset Disappointment

Yesterday we were treated to an unexpected but gorgeous sunset. The problem was that I wasn't in a position to get to a good place to get a shot. So tonight we drove here only to have the clouds clog the horizon and block the view. I still used my new Cokin creative filter that I got for Christmas that nicely turned the grey sky to blue.
I like the processing. It's so frustrating when your shot doesn't meet your expectations.

It is such a lovely landscape...the light and sky are beautiful. Love the layers and textures. Will have to look up the filter...everything is so clear and defined.

@eyesmile - My wife bought me the Creative System starter kit. It came with the adapter that screws onto your lens, filter holder and one filter. She bought the 122 which is the one I used for this. http://www.cokin.co.uk/

Beautiful!
Oh, the number of shots we miss because there's nowhere to stop, no access if there is somewhere to stop, or - one that I suffer from a lot - it looked great from the car but you just can't get the same angle when you step down from it!

I really like the shot you got tonight! The interesting foreground draws my eye right in, and your filter made the sky look very dramatic. Nicely composed, too, with the tree branches on the right.

Looks very pretty and you'd never know it was not a blue sky.

It is still beautiful!

Lovely shot. Thanks for mentioning the use of a filter. I love the blues in your sky and wondered if that was just processing. I don't have any filters but think I may give them a closer look.
