Labor Day marks the unofficial end of Summer in the U.S. There are fairs galore as communities host the last flings of summer and children return to the classrooms. This is the casino in Buhl Farm Park as hundreds of people enjoyed a beautiful Labor Day at the park.
What a beautiful building, typical of one of the two main styles of great architecture I associate with the USA.
Cool composition with the placement of the flag in the frame and the sweep of the path.
@dulciknit - This building, called the casino, is quite old, but remodeled two or three years ago. Our State Representative got some grant money to refurbish both the interior and exterior. Frank and Julia Buhl were well to do industrialists and they left behind this park as their legacy. It originally contained 120,000 acres, but part of that was sold and is now a private country club. This casino was designed by Charles Hopkinson of Cleveland, Ohio and was constructed for dances and general use by swimmers, skaters, and other guests of the park. Lake Julia to the left and a large public pool to the right of the building.
