Your sparrows are very different colours to our English ones. Fascinates me when the names are the same but the bird looks different - like the US v UK robins too.

@casablanca - I love your robins. I would trade in a minute! Someone gave our Robin that name because of its breast color when in actuality it is not even a robin. It is a thrush which is somehow related through species to the European Robin.
