little choo-choo train is so excited to see his great grandather who has long ago left this earth.
"choo-choo! look at you, you look all....red!" says great grandfather dart, as he waits for little choo-choo at the gates of train heaven.
"grandfather, i am so glad to see you! it was horrible underneath that hot and mucky lake water. i thought i'd never get out!" says little choo-choo train.
"great grandson, i repeat: i am your great grandfather."
and the little red train realizes he's now in a safe place with his great grandfather. "tell me, what happened, great grandson."
"it was horrible. i was just posing for a photo with an airplane..."
"hmpf! those airplanes, that's why i've been rendered obsolete because of them. why, i used to transport everything and everyone everywhere until those bastards came along and took my job."
"aherm, great grandfafa, this is my story, not yours? let me finish, please?"
"you're right, so tell me."
"well, a big dog came charging at the photographer who turned out to be super afraid of dogs. so the photographer yelled 'back off' to the dog and pointed her tripod at it, but it still kept coming at her, while the owners were laughing and saying the dog was just being playful. but the photographer's back was pushed against the metal fence and the fence moved and i lost my balance and fell in the water. i'm pretty sure the photographer would've caught me had it not been for that awful, awful dog. next thing i know, i am here with you."
"hmmm...that's an awful story, great grandson. let's check if the photographer is okay."
they go to this big tv the size of a building and see that the photographer is having a word with the owners who keep insisting the dog is just being playful. they do not apologize and even tell the photographer to 'grow up'. so the photographer tries to take their photo but they run away in a hurry. the photographer is left shaking but after a few minutes she leaves and goes to baskin robins to have a big bowl of fudge brownie ice cream.
the end.
and thank you for your concern about my choo-choo train who is now in the depths of lake ontario and officially contributing in its little way towards the lake's pollution.

for the next 7 days my assignment from prof bill is "seven elements". might you want to join us? here's the deal:
we go to a street corner or park or just about anywhere and take photographs showing any or a combination of the following:
light
shadow
line
shape
form
texture
colour
size
depth
(not necessarily in that order)
or you can also add
focus
tonality
quality of light
pattern
negative space
tag will be "seven-elements".
and for the record, i don't know half of those thingies so it would be an interesting exercise.
and yes, thank you, i've recovered from yesterday's trauma. but now i hate dogs and stupid dog owners, except for sally and kaela.
Oh Vikki, I read your story with horror! I cannot understand why people are so irresponsible. In fact they are downright disrespectful and do not deserve to be in charge of a dog. I am glad though that Baskin Robins was available to assist in your recovery. Sorry to hear that the little red train is now discovering new depths.
I am hoping to be better organised and join in with you and Bill this coming week.
This makes me so sad! First of all- most dog owners are really not that inconsiderate, so try not to let "one bad apple (or two) spoil the whole bunch" and secondly, I really liked that little train. Well, at least he's in a happier place. Thirdly, I have just eaten a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream in sympathy with your trauma.
@olivetreeann - i really love that train, too. i even painted it myself (with very red nail polish, the whole bottle from avon no less!). now i have to find another train, i bought it when i took my bus trip down to windsor. maybe i'll find another one in nova scotia. :-D
@salza - thank you, sally. i wish all dog owners, especially those with really big ones, are sensible and smart like you. unfortunately, you're probably one of the exceptions.
I am hoping to be better organised and join in with you and Bill this coming week.
I must fully agree with Sally @salza and her comments.
Sorry to hear about your trauma too! You are not having much good luck with people encounters lately!
