transformation

the old man sits on the bench under the tree, clutching the collars of his coat. the wind blows every now and then and the leaves of the old sycamore behind him flutter to the ground, kissing the grass before the wind carries them farther.

it never fails to amaze him, this tree. in the spring it has been the keys that fell from it, and in the summer it has been its shelter that he has sought whenever the sun shone too long up in the heavens. then as autumn approaches, he stares in awe at its changing colours. when winter comes, he knows, the view would still surprise him with its snowy covering, as in the last eighty years.

it is a cycle he never gets tired of. and he knows, the tree would still be there long after his own body has been ravaged by nature.

the element i chose for today's assignment from prof billy is light, as in the sunlight that filtered through the leaves of this maple tree and resulted in a semi-arc reflection.

seven elements for this week. the elements to utilize in the daily postings are light, shadow, line, shape, form, texture, colour, size, and depth (not necessarily in that order). or you can also add/use
focus, tonality, quality of light, pattern and negative space.

if you want to join in the tag is seven-elements.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.
@bill_fe - first one, my good friend. actually it also includes shadow and colour.

The black is the shadow and the green is the colour to see beyond! Like you little story though the ending is a bit raw!

@summerfield That arc is very intriguing. I don't think I've seen one like that before. I like it.
Sad story you've created.

@bill_fe - it's probably a combination of the sunlight hitting the camera with its expensive CPL filter. :-D first it happened to my shot and i am always shooting directly into the sun.

I always like the way light flutters through a tree. This one is lovely and the story very real. The arc is very interesting!
