whoever invented the fountain pen and the ball point pen and the keyboard should be the ruler of the world. imagine if we had to write a letter or, heavens forbid, a novella with a quill. you write, you dip, you write again and you dip again. repeat until finished.
i have a similar posting over at madhatters but i made the mistake of writing a story as i uploaded. murphy's law screwed me up yet again when the signal *ucked up and the text got erased and now i couldn't remember how i started it. i'm pretty sure it will come back to me...in a hundred years. http://365project.org/madhatters/365/2015-09-02
in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness month, which is being spearheaded by marta @whimsicalgrateful. whereas i will be posting something yellow or with yellow for a week (as i will be travelling in mid september and may not fulfill the challenge), marta and others supporting the cause will be doing this for a month. i may continue for as long as i can incorporate something yellow in my shot, but for this week, it's all about yellow on this album. won't you join in this worthy cause?
Boy do I know how you feel! Thankfully there are times when I can figure out how to recover something that has apparently disappeared into cyber world but for the times that I can't, I have to remind myself NOT to throw the laptop out the door since I can't replace it! Great vignette!
I love the romance of this but agree, i would never want to write my novels that way, in fact I probably did write a novels worth that way back in Jr. High and High school. I wrote with white ink and an ostrich feather, on Black stationery to a ton of penpals. weird affectation I know.
@pandorasecho - it's almost the same for me, in high school, i used to write poems on blank cards and sold them; or people would ask me to write their book report, as teachers would give better grades when the reports were neatly presented and the writing pleasantly readable. now i can't even do a grocery list. too tired and too lazy. thank you, dixie.
I cannot believe you own a yellow quill!! Yes, it would be painstaking to write with one, but maybe it would help get our thoughts in order rather than just spurting them out!! Sorry about losing your story to cyberspace... I curse pretty loudly when that happens!
