we met the smiths, jonnie and ken, while taking photos at the bug lighthouse in south portland, maine. they were there in the park, sitting on a bench with their binoculars, checking out the gulf of maine, as the fog rolled in and out. they were amused at us as we took turns taking our photos and were laughing so hard at our antics. i could not muster enough courage to ask to take their photos, but i chatted them up telling them that we're glad to have made them laugh. they said we were very funny.
the smiths had been married more than 50 years, their children scattered all over the states and they had moved so many times starting from california and now they've been in maine for 18 years. they said the atlantic ocean stopped them from moving.
here they were explaining to bill about something and although i had later on asked if i can take their photograph, they were quite shy about it. this then became a candid shot. bill took a picture of me with them though.
you will find my other shot of this couple in my september people album.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
