"I had a farm in Africa at the foot of the Ngong Hills. The Equator runs across these highlands, a hundred miles to the north, and the farm lay at an altitude of over six thousand feet. In the day-time you felt that you had got high up; near to the sun, but the early mornings and evenings were limpid and restful, and the nights were cold." - isak dinesen
i swear, i see this every day in toronto, whether at home or from work. and i swear, every time i see this, the film "out of africa" always, always comes to mind. even the sound of it would make me think of the movie.
i was homebound the whole day as i wasn't sure if i can go far enough from home with my stomach's condition. i think i had a slight food poisoning. i'm thinking the side salad that came with my sandwich last friday at lunch. but at five, i decided i am well enough to take the trains down to the lake and shoot a bit. nothing exciting going down there. so i had a beaver tail and a hot chocolate just before i hopped on the train to go home. i feel good. if anything, the suffering will come in the middle of the night.
Nice shot captivating that curiosity that comes when looking up at passing planes in the sky. Hope you survived the night .. but beaver tail and hot chocolate sounds a strange combination.
Lovely minimalistic capture. Really enjoyed the movie Out of Africa. One of the few movies I have seen more than once. I hope you are feeling better. Have no idea what a beaver tail is (other than the one that is attached to a real beaver). I shall have to look it up.
