for the fourth week of the 52-week challenge, the challenge is to delve into our creativity and show/photograph a quiet moment.
i do have a lot of quiet moments (although i argue with myself a lot, fortunately, myself very seldom argue back with "i" but when myself argues back, it's altogether a different kind of quiet). people think that just because one lives alone all is quiet every time. i say no. just the noise in my head is enough to make me keyed up and long for real quiet moments. i do that by reading, even so far as to read a book i've already read several times. these days, i like to enjoy having tea whilst reading. helps to quiet the mind and concentrate on the reading, especially when i am on review mode and reviewing a book assigned to me.
a long time ago, we went to a restaurant and was served blooming tea. that inspired me to buy this tea pot. digging in my boxes a few months ago, i uncovered this, still in its unopened box so i thought i'd get some blooming tea and make use of it. and it's been my calming tool ever since.
i know, that cropped part of the bowl on the left buggers the heck out of me but i tried a lot of cropping and nothing looked right so i just left it be. now that i told you, stop looking, just look at the pretty flowers inside the tea pot. :-D
Well if you want to be picky you could say the same about the books on the other side 🤠However I think it’s a nicely composed shot that tells the story in its own right. Definite fab
Oh my, you really have captured my attention with the composition. I love the way you set up the table so simple but elegant. I lived alone for near a year so I do know what you mean, I learned to enjoy my own company. My son decided to move back, I still have my silent times they must be appreciated. Amazing shot. FAV
@alia_801 - it does. a combination of jasmine and vanilla with some berries thrown in. these are starry night and summer fun. there's also one called peaches and cream with a hint of chrysanthemum. I try to get one's with a familiar scent.
I wish you hadn't mentioned the bowl. I certainly was enjoying the calm reflective scene and recognising the therapeutic set up you have made for yourself. I'm intrigued by the tea. it looks lovely. Fav for the wonderful set up and calming influence this has.
:Looks very pretty- interesting concept with the tea- and I probably would not have noticed the bowl because I was too busy looking at the plants in the tea pot until you mentioned it! Nice capture- I also like the lighting.
