i could have interpreted this another way but i wanted to be as literal as possible so that there is what happened. also, what i've learned from doing self portraits on a regular basis (since joining "five plus two" and doing the "52 portraits of me" last year) is you need to want to do it on the spot, but that's how most of my self portraits are - impromptu.
today i feel fat and large. maybe because i ate a big serving of sushi :-P and that was after i took a long walk. my only consolation is i'm still not too large as little blue wouldn't sit on my side without me holding it, as apparently i didn't have enough folds to secure it. the time when i put it on my side and it sits there snugly, that's when i think i should worry!
sometimes i pine for the days when i was a size 5, both shoes and clothes. now i'm a size 12, just the clothes though, not the shoes! well, i tend to wear something big so my folds wouldn't show. darn it, summerfield, you're talking about 40 years ago, you nutter! a lot of buffets happened since then!
this reminds me: there's a new artist challenge featuring carrie mae weems. one of her series of works was titled "slow fade to black" - this is in the style of that particular series. in processing this i probably unconsciously getting her vibes so i will tag it for the challenge. but i am only playing, to help promote the challenge, you know. here's the link: https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/30988/new-artist-challenge-carrie-mae-weems
@kali66 - no, i am still 32 in my mind's eye. i don't like 20, not much freedom yet. 28 and up, yes, i can do anything i wanted. however, these days, my body reminds me i'm old by the sudden pain in the back and in the knees. even my stomach tells me i can't do buffet anymore. :-D thank you, my friend.
Excellent. I really like this. I was going to ask if you had created the clear clock and the blurry you through the edit, but Domenico has made that assumption and so shall I. Good choice. Fun commentary - I'm currently too appalled at my creeping weight gain to make light of it, and as for the bodily reminders of age ....... I think you picked a good age to be - around 31 would do it for me.
