at the union station today. there was practically no one watching this and why that is because it was a warm 22 degrees out and people just took advantage of being outside. it is predicted, though, that temps will fall to 3 degrees tonight.
even with nary a soul watching them, i was told "no professional photography, please." they didn't want any of the photos i'm taking to be sold to third parties or commercially.
so i looked behind me and around me to find that there were only a handful of people and they were not even watching the dancers because they were all engaged with their mobiles. i was the only one who cared enough to take photos and i am no professional photographer. i said so. but then, i was told, so matter of factly, that i am holding a professional camera. highly amused, i didn't know if i should feel flattered or insulted. i chose to be flattered and i told him that i take photos only for personal edification.

I guess they don't know that digital images get sold from camera phones all the time- by amateurs and pros alike. Funny too in that if you did sell the image with credit to their troupe, they'd be getting free publicity. - Oh well, people perceive what they will. Good shot- crazy contrast between the dancer and the tech addicts in the back ground.
Interesting pic and an interaction between you... People do like to be asked these days.. bet they don't ask for the numerous security cameras to be switched off. Strange days!
