pardon the quality of this post but this is a video grab from my nephew's wedding which was streamed live at three o'clock in the morning (toronto time). the groom is the middle child of vivian, my youngest sister (the artist). her first born is the second guy on the left and her youngest and only daughter is the girl in red and black on the right. my youngest brother is the skinny man on the left and that's my other niece from another sister on the far right.
my sister did the decoration at the altar, using paper to make the wisteria clusters behind, as well as the fresh flower arrangements. she also made paper hydrangea for table centrepieces. my goodness, the patience of that woman is incredible! the little giveaways were also her doing.
it was a touching moment for me when the groom and bride were being called back to the front for photo taking; but first he led his bride towards my brother sitting at the back with my niece. he introduced his bride to his uncle and then they each kissed his hand in the traditional showing of respect for the elders. i got to hand it to vivian for raising her kids well. our mother would've been very proud of her.
i am pooped from being up half the night watching this event and i didn't go for my walk until noon when i woke up. i got rained on at the end of my walk; i was planning on getting some stuff at the hardware store but i thought better and just went back home and chilled. i need to finish my painting project that i started two nights ago but i yet have to look at it. pooped! really pooped!
Congratulations to the bride and groom! Isn’t it wonderful that these days we have the technology to be able to “attend“ the wedding from such a distance?
I think it is amazing that you were able to participate from so far away! Not as good as being there in person because you can’t holding them but so terrific to be able to see it unfold. Your sister sounds like a remarkable woman with all her many talents. This is a lovely photo of the family
How wonderful you were able to view the wedding and festivities "real" time. A shame you weren't able to attend but...
Best wishes and congratulations to your nephew and wife.
I look at your sister's handiwork every day and marvel at how tightly she wove those little flowers so I can just imagine how beautiful her contributions were here. That's pretty amazing that you were able to attend the wedding even though you had to get up in the middle of the night to be there.
@olivetreeann - thanks, ann. i have been meaning to write you an email, but of course, i keep forgetting, as (1) i hardly ever open my email account and (2) i'm a scatter brain. i have already sent last month the box with our 365 friends' donations. my sister doesn't want money, but instead, if you have old children's books (not the vintage heirlooms, obviously, although she'd be over the moon with that!) that your grands have no use for anymore. i also don't think she'd want more crayons as i made sure i have a good size box filled with new crayon sets (about 8 dozens of the 24 set) plus the donated boxes probably had some, too. there were 7 friends who sent in box of goodies which i didn't open because i wanted her to do the honours seeing she was the one who requested them, and there were 3 friends in england that sent her box of books and crayons directly. so i think she should have everything she asked for and more. but thank you so very much for the thought, it is much appreciated.♥♥♥
