the merry sunflower by summerfield

the merry sunflower

here's the obligatory 'smiling' sunflower shot. she was amongst the "wildflowers" section of the farm surrounded by colours. unfortunately we arrived there in mid-day and the light was atrocious for photography but thankfully somewhat dulled by the few clouds. but god in heavens above, the heat was so oppressive i was only one of the six passengers that ventured into the field. we had an hour and the others just took photos of the sunflowers by the edge of the farm and went back to the comfort of the bus. plus they bloody people didn't want to part with $6.50 entrance fee. we were given only an hour to roam about and we certainly made the most of it, even though i myself was dripping with sweat like the raging bull at the end of boxing round. but don't think that this is all i have to offer. more to come, if you're interested.

Good for you, for paying the $6.50 and making good use of your hour despite heat and knees. The smiley sunflower makes ME smile too.

sad to be restricted on time when there are so many opportunities awaiting but it sounds like you made the most of it.

That was a surprise, I'll bet. Very clever of someone to do this. The colorful flowers (I'll bet many are zinnias, are lovely in the background.
