The Builth Wells Bull

Builth Wells is a delightful little town 14 miles from where I live. The name 'Builth' derives from the Welsh Bu Allt - 'the wild ox of the wooded slope'. The bronze statue is modelled on a local prize-winning Welsh Black bull. Welsh black cattle have played an important part in the town's history. They are highly prized for their meat.
What a fine looking beastie this chap is!

What a great sculpture! Looks good in a natural setting too!

@squaresparrow @craig3f2 It is great isn't it. The river Wye is behind the trees and the road is behind me as I'm taking the picture. You drive past it every time you go through the town which is nice.

We've got a lovely sculpture just on the outskirts of Perth - of a grouse flying. It rises up out of the trees in the middle of a large roundabout, so I can't get a photo of it, as there's no stopping place (without getting arrested!). Have tried to find a link to it online to let you see what it's like http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.urbanrealm.com/images/news/news_2628.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.urbanrealm.com/news/2628/The_Famous_Grouse_gifts_wireframe_Grouse_to_Perth.html&h=600&w=400&sz=66&tbnid=dyTw4W-5yXogBM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=60&zoom=1&usg=__ubO_frz8Ph-mJWe9KHb3b-OC4jw=&docid=5yDBxgW_rHuOIM&sa=X&ei=L8BZUqKmO4fU0gXW64GABw&ved=0CFkQ9QEwBw

@squaresparrow I did look at it, thank you for the link. It's lovely. It's so infuriating when something worthy of a photograph is in a place where it's impossible to take one.

@susiemc Glad you managed to find it - the grouse looks amazing when it's lit up (not overly, but subtly) in the dark.
