I Wish........................ by susiemc

I Wish........................

......................that this magnificient magnolia tree was in OUR garden but it isn't. I saw it when we were on our way to Hereford this morning and on the way back Chris pulled into a pub car park right next to it so that I could take a photo. No special photography skills here (and just my trusty little canon ixus) but what a beautiful sight.
Beautiful..... spectacular sight sight aren't they..... I wonder how old it is ?

@dizzyd I think it must be quite old because they seem to be very slow growing don't they.

Agree Sue..... I planted one in my garden about 5 years ago & its still only about 6ft high with about 4 branches & very few flowers !!

What a lovely tree - I really want one for my garden. Not sure I can wait that long though

It certainly is Sue.....so you're telling me that the pull in to the pub car park was just to take this shot? A likely story!!!.

@virtualbrownie I just have to enjoy other people's beautiful magnolias (I know where they all are for miles around!)

@foxes37 It's not just around here then? It seems to have been a good year for everything so far.....snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils and now magnolias. Long may this trend continue.

Yours is a lot bigger than mine! Its a great year for them .. lets hope tonight's promised frost doesn't clobber them.

@pamelaclarke It's huge isn't it, and with a handy pub car park next to it so chris could pull in and I could take the picture.
