The Angel of the North

During the next 2 weeks I'm going to have difficulty deciding which picture to post. Not today however. This steel sculpture by Antony Gormly is in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. It is 20 m tall and the wings are 54 m across. I took several photos but I decided to post this one with Chris standing at the bottom (he's 6' 2" tall) to give you some idea of it's size.

Many, many thanks to Claire for giving me excellent directions and advice. Unfortunately the ice-cream van wasn't there but at 9.30 in the morning there weren't any people either which was great!!
Brilliant shot! Glad you made it:0)

Knew it was large but the person at the base shows it's size perfectly!

@barneyone It's quite tricky isn't it but I do have a very wide angle lens.

@chimfa It really is huge but you need something else on the picture to show that.

Who would have thought you could make Chris look small. You cracked the scaling - great pic.
