Fungus

This amazing fungus is on the dead stump of a horse chestnut tree which we had taken down 3 years ago. We kept the stump (it's about 12 feet high) because it supports an important cable but it was well worth keeping because amazing fungus grows on it each year.

@dizzyd Thank you Helen and thanks for the fav. This is at the top of the tree stump but there's also lots of it on the ground.

@chimfa It's a shame you don't get mushrooms and toadstools in Spain but you get sun! You see I like the photos you take Jane because they're different.
