On Sunday we took Martha to the airport to catch an early flight to Guadalajara in Mexico. She's working in the hospital there for 6 weeks.
She has arrived safely and she is staying with a very nice family - they don't speak English and she doesn't speak Spanish...........yet - but she seems very happy and says Guadalajara is a beautiful city.
How exciting for her no wonder she was anxious about her exam results, I hope she enjoys her 6 weeks there, perhaps the family will learn some English from Martha and she will learn some Spanish
Lovely collage
A lovely collage of Martha stepping into her mew work and life You must be still very anxious yet proud of her Sue ! Her experience in Mexico will be well received I am sure and so much to learn and enjoy !
How exciting for Martha Sue! She has the whole world at her feet now! So good to go abroad & get different experiences & knowledge of different illnesses ...what does she hope to,specialise in? You will be glad to hear from her every time she gets in touch...I know how it is!
She's started her residency in Mexico? Interesting place to send someone who doesn't know the language. Nice collage of her starting the new phase of her life. She have the stories to tell when she returns.
We went to Mexico a few years ago. The people were fantastic and loved the way we'd come " all the way from England" to see their country. They have the same sense of humour as Brits too. I'm sure Martha will enjoy her time there.
@oldjosh You're so right Margaret. A lot was riding on these exam results. She seems to be really enjoying herself and I'm sure she'll be pretty good at speaking Spanish when she gets home.
@beryl@foxes37@happypat@barneyone@aglennc@dizzyd@gilbertwood@g3xbm@chimfa Thank you all for taking such an interest in Martha. She's been keeping in touch every day by WhatsApp and she's so happy. Lack of Spanish doesn't faze her but she's anxious to learn. She learnt Welsh and French at school so hopefully she won't have too much trouble with Spanish.
