Snakes Head Fritillary

We don't have much success with these delightful little plants. We've tried planting them often but they never seem to come up the following year. I was very pleasantly surprised to see this one on an overgrown grassy bank outside the kitchen window. I'd been watching it for several days before I decided that this was the day to take the photo.

They are so beautiful, I have a few I planted last year and like you I was really pleased they came up. I have heard that they are very hard to get established

I have a vague recollection my mum saying once that these flowers don't like to be moved....could be wrong but it just passed through my mind when I saw it.
