Many lambs in other areas are quite big by now but this was taken at Dinas rspb reserve in the Cambrian Mountains in Carmarthenshire (45 minutes from where I live) and spring comes late. There were a lot of very cute, very tiny lambs. The sheep and lambs were actually in a field adjacent to the reserve.
@beryl Thank you Beryl. Yes, you're absolutely right. Most of the farmers around here make sure the lambs are born quite late to avoid the worst of the weather.
@brennieb We've had dry weather for quite a while now which is good for the lambs. Apparently they can cope with cold weather much better than wet. They all look healthy.
@koalagardens These ones were very small, can't have been more than a few days old.
@onewing Thank you Babs. I always feel so sorry for them when the shearers come. Although they wait until summer the poor sheep must still feel the cold.
