If my Mum had still been alive she would have been 100 years old today. Here she is 10 years ago on her 90th birthday surrounded by her children, grandchildren and one great grandchild (Emily). One grandson was missing because he was and still is living in America. It was a very happy occasion. Mum always thought she would live to be 103 because a gypsy once told her she would. Sadly despite her best efforts and positive attitude to life she died when she was 91. We still miss her.
Lovely memory. I remember our mums nattering together about us all on the occasions they saw each other. I think I have worked out who everyone is on the photo.
@carole_sandford Thank you Carole. Gosh, 106 is a good age. As you say, getting old isn't so bad if you have a healthy body and mind.
@foxes37 Thanks Lis. I too have fond memories of our Mums nattering. The photo is nearly 10 years old so there weren't many 'partners' then, Just Paul's partner, Vio and she's very much still around.
@happypat Thanks Pat. Yes, she was a very positive person and even towards the end when she was in very poor health she wasn't prepared to give up.
I can see where you get your lovely smile from.

@gardencat Yes she did Joanne. It was never, ever a chore or a duty spending time with her, always a pleasure.
