Hoya Carnosa or Wax Flower

This is a very old plant which I've had for many years. It's been quite neglected and we've never had quite the right place to put it to show the flowers at their best. Our new house has a 'garden room' so we're hoping the loyal little plant will finally have the setting it deserves. The flowers have a wonderful scent.
Such a pretty flower -- nice to see you are planning ahead and finding spots in your new home for some of your favourite plants as well !

I love hoyas. I had one for many years, that had belonged to my Mother in Law. I'm not sure if I killed it, or it died of old age :)

@beryl We're throwing away some very old, unattractive plants but we'll make sure there's a good place for this hoya and the orchids :)

@phil_sandford Thanks Phil. They're not very common. When I was little a friend of my Dad had one growing all across the top of the inside of his greenhouse and there were all these little clusters of flowers hanging down and the scent was amazing. Funny how you remember things like that.

@bigmxx They are pretty aren't they.. Ours never produces many flowers but perhaps it will in a new location.

@koalagardens @happysnaps You ladies probably have them growing outside. They do well in greenhouses here but we've never had a greenhouse.

@gijsje Just one cluster of flowers can fill a whole room with a beautiful scent. Thank you for commenting Bep.

@carole_sandford Thank you Carole. They're not very common but they are pretty.

@netkonnexion Thank you Damon

@merrelyn They're not easy to kill Merrelyn. This one has thrived on neglect for many years. Did yours grow outside?

@susiemc Yes it was outside Sue, but in a pot. It had been in my MIL's garden for many years and seemed quite happy in my garden for at least another 10 years, before it turned up it's toes :(

I've never seen one before. I can see why it's called a wax plant.

@chimfa They're really not very common and yes they really do look like wax.
