......St Mary Magdalene.
We wend to Sandringham today, it's only 15 minutes from where our holiday cottage is.
A short walk from the royal family's home at Sandringham stands the historic church of St Mary Magdalene. The royal family attend services at the church when they are in residence, and royal children are traditionally christened here.
It is built of carr stone, a brownish sandstone conglomerate, and is considered perhaps the best example of a carrstone building in Britain.
It was very busy because there was a carriage driving event on (and it was a sunny Saturday) so we didn't go in the house or gardens. We'll go back during the week. It was lovely to see the church though. I'm a bit of a sucker for anything to do with the royal family and I make no apologies. Chris is the absolute opposite, has no time for them at all and I'm having to drag him along while he protests loudly.
I am not for royalties either. This is a very beautiful church and very nicely captured. Did you stop to take some shots of the carriage driving event?
