Plant destroyer by suzanne234

Plant destroyer

I did get a shot of its front view, but it is far too ugly to show.
I didn't know it was a black vine weevil, and watched as it jumped off the leaf and into my flower beds. Its probably now laying hundreds of eggs ready to eat the roots of my new raised bed plants.
Good shot and interesting story. Would you have killed it you knew?

@ingajohansson Thank you Inga, I can't bring myself to kill anything, I would have scooped it up and put it on the waste ground across the road, hoping it didn't know the way back!

Great macro shot - hope it doesn't cause too much damage!

Ha! You should have shown us it's ugly face! I know some of these bugs do awful things but they are fascinating!

Makes you hate these bugs. Red weavils came to Malta somehow a few years ago and destroyed many big trees from one species of pines.
