Mmm, how to do this weeks self portrait with a Victorian theme plus the May half and half.
My answer was to show both sides of a CdV. Each photograph was the size of a visiting card, and these photograph cards were traded among friends and visitors. Albums for the collection and display of cards became a common fixture in Victorian parlours.
I did try to replicate an elaborate Victorian hairdo but that was a huge fail. I then went with copious amounts of backcombing to make a massive birds nest style seen in some old photos. This quickly wilted, so the result is not really what I had in mind. I actually look remarkably like my Mum here, which is quite nice as I always thought I looked more like my fathers family.
Next weeks theme is reflection(s) which should fit in nicely with the half and half month.
