Once upon a time, St. Austell had a beautiful old railway bridge and station buildings...... It was like stepping back in time. Sadly these fabulous historic buildings have been left to rot and fall into a sorry state. We have had so many excuses about how they can't afford to maintain them..... they can't put disabled access in the bridge (the other modern footbridge has disabled access).
Now we hear the the iconic footbridge has been sold and is going to be relocated to Wales.
I find it absolutely shocking and appalling that all of St. Austell's historic buildings are being pulled down and sold off to the highest bidder.
It would seem that Cornwall county council just don't give a damn about St. Austell..... Can we please stop voting for this bunch asset strippers and vote in somebody who actually gives a damn about Cornwall, it's history, it's heritage and it's residents.
