I bumped into the the modern version of the three graces in the garden centre today. Faith, Hope and Charity.
Faith told me that she continues to vote for the same corrupt self seeking government at every election and believes every cynical lie they tell her, despite all evidence to the contrary....... Because she doesn't really do politics and politicians are all the same anyway aren't they? She did however, show me all the lovely featureless trout pout selfies she had on her mobile phone.
Hope told me that she is just waiting for the scientists to invent a machine that will suck all the nasty greenhouse gasses out of the air...... because honestly, all this recycling stuff is just too much hard work isn't it and nobody wants a bloody great windmill stuck in their back garden do they? She was also a bit concerned about whether her bum looked big in this particular diaphanous robe.
Charity didn't seem too perturbed by the government's recent cuts to overseas aid. Charity begins at home she said..... and why should we send money to help children living in poverty abroad, when we do nothing to help children living in poverty in our own country? She does her bit though. Every month she donates two huge bags of designer clothes to Oxfam, because it's not cool to be seen wearing the same outfit too often. They are all UK size 8 so should fit the starving people in Africa quite nicely and would hopefully brighten up their otherwise miserable lives.
But hey, they are a really nice bunch of girls..... great fun..... a good laugh.... and if I get really down and depressed about the state of our planet and the future of humanity, I'm sure they will be the first to rally round and send me virtual hugs on Facebook. :)
