My get pushed partner, Delena ( @dh ), challenged me to photograph "a city skyline at sunset." On a photo walk this evening with Junko ( @jyokota ), we started in Millennium Park and ended at Buckingham Fountain. The sky was pretty clear but there were these amazing pink contrails and clouds across the sky. Sort of a "city northern lights." I thought the combination of fountain, skyline, and contrails was interesting in an over the top way, so processed it for that effect.

FAV! Spectacular image . . . and I know those colors are real! You were on the other side of the fountain and got a great capture -- I only got the skyline at this moment. I loved our photowalk, and am just now looking at my photos since jet lag made me fall asleep immediately after leaving your house.
@dh I knew I was likely to have one shot at it -- last night. I teach today and tomorrow from 5 - 8 so no sunset for me, and Thursday it's supposed to start raining for a few days. I just lucked out that I got your message as @jyokota and I were leaving for our already planned photo walk! And then lucked out that we were in the right spot for a sunset capture despite a cloudless - almost -sky. Cooperative contrails helped! Thanks for the challenge and your kind comments!
@thirdjoe Thanks Joe -- I really appreciate your view and that you think my shots have been good. It's so interesting to look at my early ones which today, I would never consider posting many of them.
Fabulous image Taffy!! Love the processing but also the detail you get in your shots - there is always a wonderful clarity. Is this HDR? beautiful colours too!! Another Fav!!
@dh Thank you so much for the get-pushed challenge this week. It did turn out that there was not a single night with any sunset this week since Monday's shot AND that shot ended up on TT. So a big big thanks for the push!

All I can say is WOW and FAV - simply stunning! Congrats on TT Taffy - so well deserved. I have been offline for a couple of weeks - looking forward to going back through your album to see what else I have missed.
Oh my Taffy this is soo beautiful. Have to fav it. Kind of lost track of stuff for a while so I am just seeing this now. A great shot of one of my favorite places in one of my favorite cities. Looks like I won't be getting there this year though.
