You are an incredible photographer, Taffy. Your comp and exposure perfectly capture my lasting impression of Chicago on the few times I have visitied. Thank you for sharing all the details on shooting. I'm learning much.
After reading Mara's song of praise to you, I just had to visit your project!. You do have a fantastic sense of composition! I love the lines and colours in this shot!
Great colours here Taffy, they contrast very well. Am I right in thinking that Soldier Field is sort of over your right shoulder? Now there is a little personal request from me to you. I would love to see some pics of Soldier Field and Wrigley Fields if you ever pass that way.
It is a wonderful shot! I hope you keep the lens. I can't imagine getting rid of any of mine--I really would like a different zoom than I have. I have a Canon 75-300 but I crave the 70-300. The price difference is huge! I can't justify getting a new one, but I'm hoping that I can get a used one soon.
@darylo Thanks for the input (and kind comment). Before I went to the zoo I was set on selling it, as it duplicates my 70-300 and is much heavier. But now I'm seeing that there are times when that wider aperture can make a huge difference. So I'm waffling. I already have it, don't need to buy a different lens, so maybe shouldn't rush into it. I'm growing into these different lenses, I think, in ways I hadn't anticipated. But it is heavy for me to carry around or to travel with...that's the dilemma. Anyway, always good to think aloud so thanks!
Such a stunning shot - fabulous golden light!! Your Chicago shots have made me want to visit and see such a beautiful city!! Congratulations on TT - so very well deserved!! Another Fav from me!! Keep the lens!!
