After 24 hours of travel, one person checking passports for 300 people in line at the Marseille airport international arrivals, 1 1/2 hours of extra driving after missing our turnoff (Nyons -- the right name -- sounded a lot like Lyons when I heard the directions, BIG mistake!), we arrived at our friends condo where we will stay for two nights. This is the view from their balcony, overlooking the upper old town. This was a multiple exposure shot using two images (in camera) since the moon was too high to capture with the clock tower, but that was the feeling I wanted to convey. Best views on black as I think the white is distracting.
Thanks all for your wonderful comments on my collage of our tree blooming. I'm barely keeping my eyes open, so no commenting on my part tonight, I'm afraid...but we do have internet so I'll "see" you off and on this week. I can't believe we're actually here!
@nix_20 I had to combine two shots, so I put my camera setting on multiple exposure with 2 images. I took the first one spot metering on the moon, and the second one spot metering on the clock tower. So it's a double exposure. The moon was a bit too high in the sky to make it an interesting image with the clock tower as it would have had to be vertical with a lot of black space. What was exciting about this shot is a year ago, I would have had not clue what to do or how to do it to create the image I was seeing in my mind.
Only just seeing your photos from France now - oh no I did see your moon photo but didn't realise you were in France. What a contrast to Chicago. Wonderful photo.
