We had a typical Beaver Island 4th of July and it was lovely. Lunch party on the lawn before the parade, parade down Main Street. Home for a few hours, then a dinner party at friends who live on the harbor so we can watch fireworks. We had a front & center view of the respectable show put on by the township. This was my favorite with the 'flower' in the center and the green limbs touching the ground while the flower seems to be looking at the red burst above. The little dots you see at the base on the right are where they were shooting off the fireworks, and you can see just a hint of the harbor tinted green from the lighting of the display. Such a fun day!
Thank you all for your comments and favs that led my "elegant daisy" and the "wow...sunset" shots to TT this week. I'm humbled and so grateful for all your support!
I love firework shots and this one is different with the capture of the little mini flares of the ends of the light trail. Beautiful work Taffy and congrats on the TT.
Fantastic capture Taffy! I have never taken fireworks - on my list of things to take. You had such a close view of this one which has made your shot perfect! Sounds like a wonderful day! Fav! Congrats in your double TT too! We can rely on your shots getting there every week!
Great detail Taffy! I understand your concern about clogging the feed. I took about 80 pictures of the fireworks so I only posted two for the same reason.
@pamknowler Thanks for the kind comments, as always Pam. For this, I learned you don't have to be super close. I set my focus on infinity and used a wide lens (not super-wide, but the wide end of my 24-85mm). then, I just cropped and it worked out well. Better, I learned, than trying to focus in on it.
i tried my first fireworks shots ,but the focusing was a big challenge!
