This is the world's largest Tiffany dome, located at the Chicago Cultural Center which is across the street from Millennium. The building is a classic, drawfed by the surrounding skyscrapers. It's one of the most interesting architecturally of Chicago's amazing collecting of structures and a favorite of mine for photographs. I thought the placement of the chandelier beneath the dome made it look like a hand on a clock. HDR from three shots using wide-angle (24mm) lens.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments on the fisheye from yesterday of the Chicago skyline through the 'bars' of the Art Institute windows! I loved all your suggestions of what it looked like -- Chicago in a cage, Chicago in jail. I should have titled it "hoping to escape" or something! But Ann @olivetreeann had the best suggestion: If Chicago Were a Paperweight. Thanks Ann -- I may change it!
Wow!! Awesome shot- and humbly pleased to have made a literary contribution to yesterday's cool shot! This is undeniably a fav of all my favs of your shots!
An image that the more you look, the more you see. Just love all the sub sets of patterns and the overall impact. I was wondering what this would look like if taken with a fisheye lens.
Fantastic capture. I don't think I have included this in my project yet. I never seem to be able to do this space justice. Your short series of shots has. Love this!
Wow this is gorgeous Taffy! I must have this on my list of must see buildings! Such exciting architecture and your photos show thus off brilliantly! Fav!
