Kicking off a month of b&w so went to one of the parking garages that is situated next to the L and had fun taking shots in both directions. I narrowed it down to 3 and this was my favorite of the trio.
never been on the ell and i've been to chicago so many times. maybe that should change this year. i like the wavy tracks, kinda sexy to look at. it's my weird mind, i know. aces, miss taffy. aces!
Oh wow, I am so envious you could get so close to the action here with no fences. How wonderful. Not surprisingly I think this is an outstanding shot which ticks all my boxes. You've captured those curves and multiple lines so well and the lines and form of the train is an excellent contrast against them. Love it, love it …
That's a truly wonderful B&W image! I love the content in the picture as well, but had to wonder at what it cost for the parking garage in Chicago so you could get your photo! I have an $18 photo of the Lake Front Skyline!
It's the bend in the rails that really makes this shot interesting......and the expression on the driver's face, which seems to be saying "what in the world is that crazy woman doing in front of my train??"
Just scrolling through the PP and this one jumped out at me! What a fabulous b&w image! Love the curves in the lines and the angle of the train. Great to see the driver! What a wonderful pov Taffy -,it looks like it's,coming straight at you! Huge Fav! It's great to know I have been on the L - must check out my shots. Nothing like this of course!
This is such a great shot- I really like that you can almost see the details of the driver's face. And of course the tilt of the car and curve of the tracks. You could look at this shot for a while!
love the movement tones and textures
