I had been told that yesterday's setting moon was a brilliant red, spectacular as it set into the horizon of Lake Michigan. I'd even been awake and about, but hadn't gone down to the deck and a tree was blocking the view from our house. Grrr.... So I set the alarm early so I would see it today for sure. I was able to take about 4 shots while it was still around 30 minutes from setting, sharp and white against the dark sky. Then, I went in to change lenses to get the feel of the lake, island, and sky...and when I came back the moon had begun to disappear behind clouds, never to appear again -- http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2017-10-06 ...Disappointing -- but glad to at least have a shot or two of the full moon.
well I'm not sure how you would have managed to compete with your recent Autumn sunset, but no doubt you would have found a way. The full moon without colour looks good, with great detail. I love it wen you see that spot with the stripes converging on it. Looks like a melon. I bet you are pleased to have at least got this excellent full moon.
Great moon shot! Did you flip this? I'm thinking what I call the "melon part" should be on the right (the same as my moon shots) because we're both in the northern hemisphere. But maybe because you're further north in Michigan, it's switched???
