For The Horses

Just a picture of the view from that mountain in Taipei that has monkeys on it. Which I must say has gotten me more than a few free meals (aka dish washing), when I show people that yes there are wild monkeys in Taipei city.

I actually love the location of Taipei. It's always amazing to be in this large busy city with tall buildings, and you look off into the distance and you see these large majestic mountains. It gives a sense of peace and tranquility you don't get in most modern cities. Best still, no matter where you are in the city, you are never more than an hour's walk away from a mountain. You can walk up to see great views of the city, or look in other directions and just see amazing views of green that make you feel as if you are transported someplace else. A natural untouched environment.

In the middle of this picture very hard to see is a horse stable and those circular areas that horses run around in. I'm sure this has a name, but thankfully it's never come up in any of my classes, so I don't look like an idiot for not knowing.

As much as every american girl wants a pony, horses are not so highly admired in Taiwan. Of course this is logical because their aren't many horses here. But people do get amazed when I tell them that I know some people in the states who have their own horse. Which serves to have them even more admire america, while i try to tell them that it should only better illustrate for them one of the reasons why america is so bad....the inequality of wealth.

Anyway, this is only the second horse stable I've seen in Taiwan. The only other one i've seen is next to the beach. People can go there to learn to ride as well as to take the horses out to ride on the beach. My dog and I sometimes go to that beach, and for as stubbornly curious as she can be sometimes, she seems to have no interest in going up to the horses.
