I was all set to post a completely different photo until I went outside last night and nearly stepped on this little fellow. A bit surprising since we normally only see them during the day but it had been a very hot day so maybe he had been taking refuge. Quickly got the camera and managed a couple of hasty shots before he went back into hiding. It is a skink of some sort and was about 30cm long.
@tellefella We get some pretty big skinks in the back yard. I have got some good photos of them in the past but according to my own rules, I am not allowed to use them In this project.
@tahoemb No worries with these. They are beautiful but very timid although about 12 months ago, one objected to my son trying to take away whatever it was he was eating and it latched onto his finger. Ha Ha
I like lizards but skinks have been known to scare me. I've taken them for snakes at first glance! We had really long ones in Namibia when I lived there.
